A 3D film and out-of-home campaign for the University of Geneva’s Research and Grants Office, turning research support into a world of independent spheres and guiding pathways.

Make research support visible. UNIGE’s RGO helps researchers navigate the processes behind their work. My challenge was to turn that abstract role into a clear, engaging visual story.
Freedom needs clarity.
Too much choice can make it harder to move forward. A clear framework reduces uncertainty, giving researchers more room to focus on their ideas.
A path for independent minds.
Researchers become spheres moving through a complex world. The RGO becomes the pathway that supports their journey: guiding them through the process while leaving them free to pursue their own direction.
Sculptural architecture, winding tracks and reflective spheres turn the metaphor into a tangible 3D world. The contrast between individual spheres and larger structures makes the relationship between autonomy and support visible.
The same idea, seen at a glance. Sculptural pathways and independent spheres carry the film’s visual language into portrait posters and a landscape billboard.

One film, three touchpoints.
The film lives on the RGO’s page on the UNIGE website, is presented at university events and is sent directly to researchers, meeting them wherever they first encounter the office.
Establishing the journey: introduce the researchers, reveal the pathway and show how the two interact.
Developing the pacing and transitions so the individual scenes read as one continuous journey.
Clay renders and wireframes: modelling the architecture, tracks and spheres before shading, with paper-based materials to keep the world soft and tactile.
